Album Cover

In this project, I delved into the theme of duality through imagery, color, and layout. The album cover features an eagle, embodying both the title and a critique of society. Rather than its typical protective nature, the eagle is depicted with an aggressive demeanor, underscored by a dollar sign in its eye, symbolizing the disregard for the common man in a capitalist society. In contrast, the back cover showcases a nest with a cracked egg beneath the tracklist, representing the neglect of the eagle, reinforcing its role as a figure of aggression rather than comfort. The inside spread features a pattern of the eagle, alternating in color, with one cracked egg among them, further emphasizing the duality and stripping away the nurturing connotations typically associated with the bald eagle. The vinyl sticker displays the eagle's eye alongside a quote from the title track: “He is calling you DUDE!” This lyric references an unnamed man who “is handling the money,” “knows about your party,” and “is serving the food,” reflecting his superior status and nonchalance regarding the plight of the common man. This concept of neglect, embodied by the greedy eagle and its unheeded progeny, serves as the driving force behind my design.
